Weekly Rites 12-2-2011 from Clare Byrne on Vimeo.

I've been reading Bob Dylan's autobiography, Chronicles I.

Dylan describes himself landing from the Midwest in New York City in the early 1960's, barely twenty years old, with "a mind as sharp as a trap." He tore, spliced and diced melody and image. He was emotionally fluent, the mouth of a shark, dangerously articulate. My response is - my mind spills out foggy as the sound, my body is a boat knocking against the dock, and my heart is gushing as an ocean.

Hi Kerry and Julie, two St. Mary's Catholic School graduates... thanks for the shout-out, Kerry - it really means a lot, and especially coming at a time when I'm feeling not so very impressive. thank you.

Julie, not the Residence Inn in North Carolina, but the Fleming Museum in Burlington, where my improvisation class has been working. Buddha in the background spotlight, and the setting sun just giving a last bit of spotlight too. Museums are such great places to do rites but the lighting can be tricky.
